Effects of oil and gas drilling operations on the marine environment
Abstract
This paper presents the results of a number of monitoring studies dealing with the effects of drilling of oil and gas wells, including the result of drilling fluid toxicity studies. Two major processes were investigated: 1) Dispersion and dilution of discharged drilling fluids and cuttings and 2) Biological effects associated with the drilling activities.
