Abstract

This book contains a series of research papers that summarize research conducted on the effects of oil and gas production in the Buccaneer Field, located in the Gulf of Mexico, off Texas. From the Objectives: “The Buccaneer Gas and Oil Field Study was inaugurated with the folloowing specific objectives:

To identify and document the types and extent of biological, chemical, and physical alterations of the marine ecosystem associated with the Buccaner Gas and Oil Field,

To determine specific pollutants, their quantity, and effects, and

To develop the capability to describe and predict fate and effects of Buccaneer Gas and Oil Field Contaminants.”
