Offshore biological monitoring
Abstract
This chapter uses a survey the waters, sediment, plankton, and benthic invertebrates of the Ekofisk oil field in the North Sea as a way to demonstrate how long-term monitoring programs might be conducted. From the Conclusions: “The data obtained in this survey in the Ekofisk field are of a baseline nature and thir usefulness lies in comparison with data from future surveys of the same area. …At present, the distribution of organisms is relatively uniform throughout the area and there is no evidence
