Abstract

This study took place around a production platform in the Buccaneer Field, located 50.5 km south of Galveston, Texas and in a nearby control area. From the Results and Discussion: “Bacterial numbers and biomass tended to be slightly higher at the control site than at platform 296-B. [However] no taxonomic differences were noted in the bacterial population for the platform vs. the control site in either the water column or the sediment.”
