Improving communication between the oil and fishing industries
Abstract
From the Abstract: “The Joint Oil/Fisheries Committee and Liaison Office were formed in 1983 by the offshore oil and fishing industries in south-central California in reponse to the growing number of space-use conflicts between the industries. In professionally mediated negotiating sessions, the Joint Committee developed the structure and functions of the Liaison Office, hired staff, and has overseen the operations of the office since 1983. The office facilitates interindustry communication, keeps records of conflicts and their resolution, and provides other services to the industries as directed by the the Joint Committee.”
