Oil production and ecology of the littoral polychaeta of Timbalier Bay
Abstract
From the Abstract: “A seasonal quantitative study was made of the polychaetous annelids from Timbalier Bay in 1973. Collections were analyzed from samples taken near oil drilling and production platforms as well as from two sites located some distance from any oil activities…On the basis of these data, there is no indication that the long-term oil activities in Timbalier Bay have had any adverse effect on the benthic polychaete communities.”
