Marine growth on North Sea oil and gas platforms
Abstract
The different marine growth communities that have appeared on oil and gas platforms in the North Sea are described. Some geographical and temporal variations are outlined. The engineering consequences of fouling in increasing loading, and its possible effects on corrosion and corrosion protection systems are discussed with a call for more experimental work in these areas
