Review of the environmental assessment of the Buccaneer gas and oil field in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico
Abstract
This paper summarizes the studies assessing the effects of gas and oil development in the Buccaneer Field, located about 50 km south southeast of Galveston, Texas. This review covers sediments, suspended particulates, hydrocarbons, biocides, elemental sulfur, avian populations, benthic communities, microbial communities, fishes, macro-crustaceans, biofouling, current and hydrography, trace metals, ichthyoplankton, and mathematical modeling.
