Abstract

This non-technical article discusses several aspects of platform decommissioning from the perspective of the petroleum industry including 1) Advanced planning, 2) Engineered solutions, 3) Research and development into more cost effective techniques, 4) Reuse, 4) Expanded use of offshore reefs, and 6) deepwater disposal.
