Observations on the effects on the effects of oil field structures on their biotic environments: platform fouling community
Abstract
The invertebrates and algae living on two oil platforms off Texas were investigated down to a depth of 21 m. One hundred and one species ofinvertebrates and 16 algal species were documented. Major findings were that 1) some species abundances varied by depth, 2) seasonality in abundances occurredfor some species, and 3) there were some differences in abundances of selected organisms between the platforms.
