Animal fouling on the Forties Platforms
Abstract
This research covers composition of the fouling communities on four platforms in the North Sea. Mussels dominate shallow waters. Starting in about 80 feet, hydroids, anemones, soft corals, and colonial tubeworms dominate and by about 330 feet, many of these species are supplanted by barnacles and seasquirts.
